I served my country, now what?

The final day of NYSC was great, i mean why else wouldn't it be? Everyone was excited, freedom at last!but freedom from what exactly? I had started having cold feet about 3 days earlier, what would my life be? I was going back to lagos, and you wouldn't last a week without money, i had so many things to do with money, but none at all, i had mailed my resumé to some companies, i think about 2 replied, you see i wouldnt exactly say i was bothered about getting a job because i wasnt, i was worried because i didnt know if i would get the job i wanted, mehn if u can wake up in the morning and have a good job to go to, just be thankful, after 10 months of dragging myself to work every morning, and telling everyone and their one legged dog how i hated my job, i suddenly missed it, no more getting to work in approximately 10 minutes because Lagos isnt built that way, no more salary at month end, at least not now anyway.
On the day i returned to Lagos, i took a flight, seemed like i spent all my money taking that flight, i mean the flight was 16,000 fair by all flight standard, but then i had to pay an extra 5,000 for extra luggage, then 3,500 at the airport to take a cab home, almost 25,000, ABC transport would have gotten me home with less than 10,000, anyway i couldnt even complain. I called one of the companies that had gotten back to me to remind them of the interview the next day, only to be told the position had been filled.
Home finally! I dropped my bags and did a physical check pf everything i had, and this is what i had

Room to myself
Sewing machine
Tons of clothes/shoes
Tons of makeup
Tablet with internet access
My discharge certificate
10,000 physical cash
20,000 i wouldnt get till the next week
Free food for now
Insanity workout

That was ALL i had, as in ALL!

I also wrote down what i needed

Standing fan, preferably rechargeable
To fix the sockets in my room
To fix my sewing machine
Bedsheets
Mosquito net
Toiletries
Money to travel to my alma mata and get my certificate
Money to get registered as a Pharmacist
Mobilisation money i.e to look for job and move around
Money to survive till ending of October

Everthing totalled 50,000 some items werent so urgent but even the urgent ones would be over 40,000

Surviving is HARD!!!!!!
